“Waitress" The Tony Award-nominated musical “Waitress” opened at the Walton Arts Center April 9 as part of the first national tour. The musical debuted on Broadway in 2016 and was brought to life by screenwriter Jessie Nelson (“I Am Sam”); choreographer Lorin Latarro (“Les Dangereuse Liasons,” “Waiting for Godot”); Tony-winning director Diane Paulus (“Hair,” “Pippin,” “Finding Neverland”); and seven-time Grammy-nominee Sara Bareilles, who wrote the original music and lyrics. Actors Christine Dwyer (Jenna) and Steven Good (Dr. Pomatter) stopped by the NWADG office to chat with What’s Up! associate editor Jocelyn Murphy about their characters, traveling the country and being part of this groundbreaking musical.
