“Waitress" The Tony Award-nominated musical “Waitress” opened at the Walton Arts Center April 9 as part of the first national tour. The musical debuted on Broadway in 2016 and was brought to life by screenwriter Jessie Nelson (“I Am Sam”); choreographer Lorin Latarro (“Les Dangereuse Liasons,” “Waiting for Godot”); Tony-winning director Diane Paulus (“Hair,” “Pippin,” “Finding Neverland”); and seven-time Grammy-nominee Sara Bareilles, who wrote the original music and lyrics.
